ProCryptum’s purpose is to help you safely transfer data over the web. To achieve that purpose, the application puts a very simple interface at your disposal. From said interface, you can type in or copy/paste any text you want, you can attach files, and you can encrypt the whole thing. You can take that encrypted file and send it to whoever you want, safe in the knowledge that the info you sent is safe from prying eyes.

At the time of writing this, ProCryptum is available for 32 and 64-bit Windows editions. The developer says that a ProCryptum edition for Mac OS X is in the works and it will be released in the near future. Getting back to Microsoft’s operating system, it must be mentioned that you will be installing a 40-day trial version on your PC.

There is nothing complicated about ProCryptum’s interface. To the left there’s a panel that you can use to type in a message. To the right there’s a panel that lists all the files you decided to attach to that message. Above these two there’s a toolbar with buttons for several functions the application can perform.

Speaking about functions, you can use ProCryptum to perform the following tasks: type in any message you want, save messages as PDF files, print out messages, attach file(s) to those messages and encrypt the whole thing, find, undo/redo.

As mentioned above, ProCryptum will encrypt a message and its attachments, thus allowing you to safely send data over the web. The application allows you to choose between several ciphers: AES (Rijndael), Serpet, and Twofish. It also lets you choose between several modes of operation: CBC (cipher-block chaining), CFB (cipher feedback), OFB (output feedback), and CTR (counter).

ProCryptum is a simple tool that efficiently does its job: encrypt messages and attachments.

Pros
